Congratulations to NYC Aging on 50 remarkable years of service! The Caregiving Documentary and Panel Discussion proved to be an exceptional event. Bradley Cooper, the producer, skillfully depicted the challenges caregivers face and explored the diverse dynamics of caring for loved ones.

While speaking with Bradley, I had the pleasure of discussing the impactful initiatives happening in the Bronx, the SHARKS Program (Student Helping and Assisting Relatives with Knowledge and Skills). The documentary resonated deeply, taking the audience through experiences that many have faced, are currently facing, or will likely encounter in the future.

Monica Morales, the Moderator, posed thoughtful and relevant questions to the panelists, fostering an engaging dialogue. The panelists included Chris Durrance, Emmy Award-winning Director; my friend, Carolina Hoyes, Senior Director of Caregivers Support at NYC Aging; Matt Cauli, a caregiver; and Dr. Mari Umpierre.

I am eagerly anticipating the full episodes airing on PBS tonight at 9 pm; you won’t want to miss it. Remember, “You Are Not Alone!”
